Decolight® for exteriors, the new world of gypsum for façades decoration by Stucchitalia

Stucchitalia offers a new and important instrument for exterior decoration to all professionals in the sector with this innovative product, which maintains the characteristics of a traditional gypsum product - great flexibility and adaptability in numerous decorative applications - while breathing new life into exteriors.

Decolight® for exteriors is the result of research by Stucchitalia: new materials applied to new production technologies, experimented and certified by the applications that have been in use in northern Europe and throughout the world over the last twenty years.
Decolight® is a composite material made of alpha-hemihydrate gypsum – with high mechanical resistance – with the addition of a special polymer and strengthened with glass fibre – chop-strand – which makes it waterproof with a fire resistance rating of "0” and resistant to atmospheric agents, ensuring an almost unlimited life span for the product once installed.
The numerous finishes available for the exposed surface allow Decolight® to provide great possibilities for cladding, also with the reproduction of materials such as stone / wood / metal, or perforated elements for the transparency of the cladding.
For special elements, light metal structures, specially designed for being secured to the main structure, can be incorporated.

GFRG - GFRC - GFRP (Stucchitalia's "glass fibre reinforced" world)

GFRG

The exceptional properties of GFRG used in Stucchitalia’s production processes enable us to go with the ideas of customers and their designers and to meet their expectations, without limiting their inventiveness or technical features, yet at the same time safeguarding the economy and simplicity of the installation process.

The dimensional stability and solidity of GFRG, its great scratch and impact resistance compared to normal gypsum ensures the duration of the decorative feature, requiring only light retouches and maintenance. This is why GFRG is particularly suited to areas of intense traffic.

GFRC

GFRC was devised to allow designers to create increasingly more elaborate and complex buildings and Stucchitalia has had a growing interest in this composite material made of concrete produced from specially selected cements with high mechanical resistance and reinforced with alkaline resistant glass fibres. Thanks to these characteristics, GFRC has soon become the product of choice for particularly elaborate and detailed modelling and exposed or perforated works, be they for interiors or exteriors.

GFRC is non-flammable, ideal for protective casing and is also insoluble and water-repellent, useful for underwater installations. GFRC has a high chemical resistance, enabling use in particularly aggressive environments, and also has a strong resistance to abrasions, atmospheric agents and UV rays, good for panelling and façade decorations.

GFRC has considerable mechanical resistance and is highly suitable for processing with oxides, grit, powders and aggregates for finishes and simulated effects.

GFRP

GFRP - glass fibre reinforced polymers (or plastic resins) - better known as "Fibreglass", is a composite material with countless qualities and characteristics.
The considerable mechanical resistance provided by the glass fibres enables GFRP to absorb large levels of impact energy despite being thin and lightweight.
GFRP’s versatility, smoothness, compactness, waterproof and UV-ray resistance, and its adaptability to various colours and surface finishes makes it particularly suitable for creations needing lightness, resistance and low maintenance, while delivering large and surprising effects.
